I recently purchased a Baofeng Speaker Mic from eBay, I have had some poor audio reports while using it. Today I spent some time testing this, using IRLP reflector node 9990 to record and hear back my own audio.
After testing the internal mic, the speaker mic and my headset, the audio on transmit via the speaker mic is poor and down in modulation. I did a small mod to this, where I drilled out the hole in the case around the mic, this made no difference.
This is something to keep in mind if you use a speaker mic with this, the audio is not great. I will mostly use the headset going forward, as for me this works the best.
